Congregate Living Facilities
Skilled Nursing for Catastrophic Injury Recovery
Benchmark Health Group operates two Congregate Living Health Facilities (CLHFs) in the San Fernando Valley: Saint Mariam Congregate in Sylmar and Best Quality Living in Northridge. A CLHF is a residential home providing 24-hour skilled nursing — care more intensive than a traditional skilled nursing facility, in a homelike setting built for recovery.

Both facilities serve residents with catastrophic injuries and medically complex conditions: brain and spinal cord injuries, ventilator dependency, complex wounds, and other life-altering illnesses. Each resident is supported by an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, therapists, case managers, social workers, and dietitians.

Saint Mariam Congregate (Sylmar) maintains an industry-leading 1:3 staff-to-patient ratio with personalized bedrooms and outdoor therapeutic areas. Best Quality Living (Northridge) adds specialized programs in neuromuscular disorders, ventilator weaning, and kidney care with outpatient dialysis, and is licensed by the California Department of Public Health.
